Turning Door Panel into Sealed Enclosure

I have a question. I plan on a 8" and 5" speaker both in my doors. I will probably make an attempt at fiberglassing them. What do I have to do to turn them into sealed enclousures? I realize the whole outside shape and whatnot, but how do I turn the back of the panel in to a sealed enclosure? What do I need to do?

If you aren't sure what to do and you're going to try and fiberglass it (inexperienced) and you're taking on a project like that, you probably shoudln't do it.

if you're sealing the entire door, that's usually considered an infinite baffle

if you're running an 8" midbass woofer, and a cone-style midrange, tho, i would consider putting each in their own pod, or at least building a complete doorpod for he midrange driver, to keep it from getting nailed with the backwave of the 8"

there's walkthroughs for the infinite baffle (8" install) in a sticky in the speaker section, and a walkthrough for doorpods in the fiberglass sticky in the installation section.

good luck

get used to working with glass first. make some oddly shaped things.

i got my start by making a cabinet for my saw, and a drawer that fit it perfectly.

then i made the box with the flare thats floating on here somewhere

then i worked on an entertainment center for awhile, but moved before i finished it.

you would have to cut holes in your door panels to make it work properly for starters......iceteebone has a doorpod worklog floating on here as well thats worth checking out if your sstill interested...
