When I turn on my car, sometimes my amp won't power on. It turns on when I turn the hu off and then back on. Could this be a problem with the turn on lead or amp? thanks for the help.

(this is just adds to the reasons i hate audio express...)

Originally posted by 82bronco yes one end goes to the h/u and the other to the amp but if u dont wanna have to rewire the amp just hook the end that would go to the h/u to the power on the amp
no dude DONT do that

doing that would cause your amp to be on all the time...and it will kill your battery

your car wont be able to start

get your amp checked

the lead could be shorting out

what you CAN do is look for another 12v source in your car and run it to the remote lead for the amp....to be safe put an in line switch

try that

if it still doesnt work...then something's wrong with your lead

you should be able to hook it up to the car ignition system most car have empty ports for accessories. and some decks have many different remote wires so make sure that the are all hooked up to the right connection , and check the led for grounding out. that can fry the deck remote out

Well, since this has been happening, I have a new development - my amp has decided to stop working completely. It is really pissing me off. Tomorrow will be devoted to trying to fix this problem, and audio express will get another earful and hopefully they won't be sick enough of me to help. Thanks for all suggestions, even though I never got to use any of them.
