Tuning the Alpine PXA-H800 DSP

Sorry I must of missed it.

I see a lot of papermaker spelling and grammatical errors. My brain skips over.
Here was my car audio question:

I'm thinking if I have to do a bunch of rewiring I may just go full active EQ and use the 8 outputs of both amps to power the four 6x9s on the PDX amp and the PDRs outputs will be to the two 5.25" and their associated tweeters. Subwoofer still off the PDX just not under DSP control, at least directly. Does that sound like a feasible plan? Does to me! With the DSP I should be able to control each driver separately except the sub. Will that work? I know the one or two outputs from the DSP say they are for subwoofers, but can I use them for full range as well?

And yes, as you said my brain skips over too when people are a s s h o l e s to me here. It's much easier after all to be a a s s h o l e responder than a substantive car audio responder here.

Because I'm local and knowing what area you are in helps me know if I can meet up with you at some point and get your system/dsp set up to play music and sound decent.
Aha, very good, thank you! I'll PM you here with my contact info and thank you!!

this ***** cant hook up a DSP and program it.. lol much less do some acual engineering like designing actual electrical systems.. lol
I'm working with OTHER PEOPLE'S EQUIPMENT/CODE, everything I hated about working in the IT field. Not working with capacitors, inductors, transistors, etc. to design/build a system.

And once again the stupidly overcomplicated crap with bad Chinese authored documentation is throwing me for a loop!

You can always build your own passive crossovers or you could even build a cool DSP using a off the shelf system on a chip. It would be a fun project that would be neat to see documented.

Tuning is time consuming but its not hard if you know the basics..

I think I pretty much understand about all the tuning parameters. I just have to start playing around with it. I have another WinXP laptop on the way. I just want it to WORK! WELL!

When I feel like spending a lot of time, I tune the H800 with a laptop running Windows 7 Pro. I use another laptop to run an RTA concurrently and the combo works pretty well.

90% of my tuning is from the driver's seat with the controller. I have a few youtube videos discussing the initial setup process (done on my test bench).

just use the controller to set it up, start on page 35 of the manual
I HATE that dinky little RUX C800 controller thingie. Just a money grab from Alpine as far as I'm concerned. As I told you the Alpine Owner's Manual is one big book of hard to understand stuff that keeps jumping into stuff I don't want or have, like tons of cell phone and other associated c r a p!
