tuning my sealed box

i read somewhere drilling 1 or 2 small holes on the box will allow the tuning to be controlled, by allowing the perimeter of the airflow to be denser then the outside air while continuously feeding the sub...
When you think about that, couldn't that be a way of making the box seem bigger than it is as well? Anyone want to explain why/why not?

i heard a box like that. i laughed at first when i saw it, but it sounded pretty good. i have no idea if it was dumb luck, or if the guy was calculating.

this reminds me of when i was little making boxs for my room , step father swore up and down about just putting holes in the box like that ..... well to my knowledge he hasnt gotten any smarter.....lol....
