Tuning 500/1 w/ 10 w6v2

Well i just installed my amp a week ago and tuned the amp to the best of my knowledge and my knowledge is like 3 from 1-10 (10 being the best). Is there anyone that can help me tune my 500/1 amp to the right spec with a 10'' w6v2 with a stock HU.

Just going off of what JL recommends in the manual. Start with the Xover set at 85Hz @ 24dB/oct, leave the subsonic filter off unless it is in a ported enclosure and start with the input sensitivity set to low and adjust your gain. If you find you aren't getting enough output from your amp, set the gain to zero and set the sensitivity to high and repeat. Use the boost pot sparingly. If you want more info on setting the gain using a multimeter and a test tone CD recorded @ 0dB, check this out.

Do what he said and if you use the bass boost knob then realize that it is a true boost at whatever "Q or freq width" and the center freq point you set it to. In other words you can set that boost knob to boost your sub 15dbs at 30hz or 15dbs at 70 hz depending on how you set it. I would not use it for this reason, it will add a huge hump in your output which is not good.

I thought it only needed the subsonic filter in a ported enclosure?
