From what I've gathered, using an old tumult for car use would be a bad idea. They are designed for HT so the low end would be way to strong when combined with cabin gain. My question is, why are the new tumults in the car audio section? I thought that the low FS was what made the old tumults bad for car usage, most of the newer tumults have an even lower value. Anyone with a strong knowledge of T/S parameters want to help me out? Secondly, what are the chances a good box for an old tumult could be built for in car use, assuming you had some beefy midbass. I'd assume you'd need a smaller sealed box for the tumult to cut down on the extension, but I really don't have much of an idea.
