2002 yukon help

hello,

i have a 2002 yukon slt they entire audio system is stock and last week my sub blew =( now it just rattles like crazy. i would like to replace it and be able to just take the old one out and put the new in, no boxs or amps. but i would like a sub that will not blow as easily as the stock one (i wasn't even listen to music that loud). i talked to one of my friends and he said that he thought it was a 8 inch sub but that because of the drive mins and max on after markets that it will not fit. your ideas? thanks

The enclosure is tiny, plus it has a weird mounting lip that doesn't allow anything to seal that is not factory. So you need to make an adapter plate from fiberglass, plastic or wood. Silicone and screw it to the enclosure. Allow it to dry 24 hours so the silicone wont eat up the surrounds on your new sub. Pack with polyfil since it is tiny. Mark and drill the holes for the sub on the new plate with the sub out.

Dayton NS210-44 8" Neodymium Low-Profile DVC Subwoofer 295-132 Jump a wire from + to + and - to -. Add the speaker wire to either side then mount it. Someone may be able to come up with an 8 that has better sensitivity. I just chose a shallow mount 2 ohm with 91 sensitivity so you will have more output than the stock 2 ohm sub with decent sq.
