i realize age doesn't always equal experience or anything but you're 18 and i have friends who have raced since they were your age. they are now 26-28 so i highly HIGHLY doubt your statement but thanks for the thought.

you heard of scott speed? i grew up racing with him. you heard of alan sciuto, aj allmadinger, graham rahal, marco andretti, yea grew up racing with them too. i have been racing karts since i was 7 years old. i am on my 13th year of motorsports. was in reno at the harras familys house today (insane by the way) picking up a new chassis because the guy who builds them lives in as the head guy for his personal race team. yea, i know a shit load of people that rank somewhere high up in the racing world. want to talk friends anymore?

its not that i assume, claim to know, or anything like that, just accept the fact that i know my shit when it comes to road racing, vintage cars, scca, F1, champ cars, or just about all auto racing.

i am not a big nascar fan at all. not my style. jeff gordon was born to be a road racer, but with the money he is making and the deal he has, why change. he did a publicity thing with juan montoya when F1 was in the US a few years back. they switched cars. gordon would have put the car on front row first time in the car.

Whoever said vettes will shit on saleens / mustangs haven't seen big block motors with 800+ HP. I have a 96 mustang with the stock short block that will beat zo6s depending on the driver. 400 hp and i've only put maybe 9k in aftermarket mods.

it all depends on what you want. if you want to save 20-30k and have the same HP, stick with the stangs. if you gave me 50k i could build a 800 hp car with ease. and it would look killer too.

this is just me but if some *** put 50k under the hood of a mustang he's still going home in a mustang that is only made for a 1/4 mile race. That same z06 will still **** you in a street course. saying you can take 50k to buy an old stang and build it up is like saying i could buy a 93' vette for 9k send it to lingenfelter and spend 41k on upgrade's and have a vette that'll run 10's. Any car can be made faster than a corvette z06 it's just very few that can be made to drive the way they do for the same price.

You can get awesome suspension that rides smoother than a vettes for 10k. I run 12 lbs of boost and have 400 horse, let me run 20 lbs and ill be over 500.

good for you. spend 10k on suspension if you've spent 9k so far and say 25 for the car if not more depending on when you bought it right? you're in the 06' vette area now with the same horsepower and i HIGHLY doubt that stock stang block can take 20lbs daily of boost. i might be wrong. again though, you can buy even a 98' for 20k now as for corvette's. i saw one last month locally for 19,800 figure if i spent the kind of dough you want to drop in your stang that 98' vette would put out over 550-600hp with ease and still be a corvette.

Corvettes parts are more expensive, less mainstream. No, it's not safe to run 20 lbs, which is why I said "let" me and I would have.....And the new shelbys blow the doors off the z06s.
