Turbo-ing my D16Y8

definently not unless you are willing to spend the money to do it right which seems not likely. your best bet is to just do an engine swap or get a different car.

 
A leakdown and a compression test is a start. If it's not what its supposed to be all you need to do is change the piston rings, to stop blowby. If you plan on keeping the car for a while I would just do a engine swap to a B18. But a turbo is FUN to drive. If you do get a turbo kit make sure you got a good wastegate and the biggest intercooler you can afford. Just make sure you buckle up, cause a turbo charger causes the right foot to become extremely heavy.........

 
how the hell do you figure that? i mean i suppose you are sorta right but you can't drop a k27 diesel turbo on that engine and have any results. stick to something small like a t4 IMO don't go insane as you'll get lag and then need n20:D.

 
baad idea I say. If the rest of your engine isnt built to take a nice turbo upgrade...its probably gonna cost you a lot of money in the close run...since its already got 120K on it...which means the ****** probably does also.

as was suggested...if your gonna do it, do it right.

 
well i think ill just put a turbo on it, and then save up for internals, cuz i really want a turbo. by the time the motor blows if it does, ill have enough saved up for another, lol.

 
ok...yyya, for that car, id say you want strong internals first...thats like getting....a DD 9515 and powering it with a Pyramid 2500 watt amp....kinda

I just know...depending on the boost your running with that...that you could EASILY damage your engine/car.

id run low low boost until i got internals.

 
well its your car...id go ask your local import shop if thats a good idea first though. or just give em a call...if they completely go against it then id say.....your car, do what you want. Its worth the call though.

what about your ******?? gotta replace that to then
