Trying out for a professional hockey team...

Had the 2nd tryout today...probably did a little better then I did the first one, but there were more goalies this time around (I'm a goalie, BTW). First tryout there were 8, this time there were 11- they're keeping 4 goalies for 2 teams.

2 of the goalies that were new got lit up in the scrimmaging, however. I didn't give up a goal during the scrimmages, and made some nice saves during.

Third and last tryout is tomorrow night.

Bump.

Didn't make it last year. Didn't try out this year. Was invited to play on the team this season though. Have to call the coach before the end of the week and let him know if I want to play.

Was asked to go to their practice the other night, had a game before it, did alright at the practice, and now if I want on the team I'm on.

Just trying to decide if it's worth it...it's a good amount of travel..

if you CAN (no obligations keeping you planted somewhere) DO IT.. I think it would be a great time. Will they be giving you enough money to survive on the road? Whats the league's geography? Im guessing you will be traveling on your own or on a bus from place to place?

Furthest we travel is to the Mass/Boston Area. There are only a few travel dates currently scheduled, as some of the games will be played over weekend tournaments. In total there are 32 games.

All of the games are on the weekends, and practices are Monday nights, which I don't have a problem with. The thing is, I'm already on two other teams and have 2 games/week between the two of them. As well as school 5 days a week and work 4 days a week. If I do play on the team, I'm going to have to tell one of my teams I cannot play for them after this season is over, which sucks because they're a good bunch of guys.

My girlfriend is also another thing, we will not be able to see each other all that much (we already don't really, and we live together). We've been together for over 5 years now, so it's not a throw-away relationship, so I do have an obligation to spend some time with her. She's a little upset that I'm considering playing for the team for a few reasons, not seeing each other all that much being the major one.

I definitely want to play, as I haven't played competitive hockey outside of house leagues since I played a summer league for my college my freshman year.
