Truth About Hifonics?

Hey guys! What's going on?

Alright, I am wondering what the truth about Hifonics is. I have a Hifonics BX1000D currently running a single 2005 12" CVR at 2 ohms.

I have considered buying another D4 CVR (or maybe a better D2 sub) and running them(it) at 1 ohm.

However, I have heard accounts of some Hifonics going into protect mode. Has this just been user error and incorrect gain settings? Or are Hifonics truly not 1 ohm stable?

There are always a couple that will burn out. As is true with all electronics.

My Bx1000d and Bx1500d both ran great @ 1ohm...

Maybe the users who got the lemons just got unlucky.

their great for the money, i dont think theirs any 1 else that can beat them for best bang for the buck aside from viper.

Their only series of amps that makes rated power and some is the xx series.

i had a bx1500d for about 6 months and always had problems with it going into protect mode. about a week ago i started my car and the amp turned on and then i see a bunch of smoke inside my car. the amp started smoking inside my new car but luckily i had the hood open so i pulled the fuse out quick. the ebay company i bought it form is giving me a refund on it. so i would not recommend this amp.

The bx1600 did 870 watts at a 1.1 ohm load, at 14.4v I believe....

 

Use that as your guide.

Who here actually has some HiFonics amps? They seem like a really good deal to me. I don't remember where, but on some forum people were recommending them left and right. What is so bad about them? If they are bad, warranty them, and get a good one. I want some input from people that actually have/had a HiFonics amp. I think it will do good for people that want to buy one.

Also, the person that benchtested theirs and got 10% distortion @ 1 ohm... Couldn't that have been a problem with the amp? If they are rated at 1 ohm stable and advertised as
