Trunk Wall

Corey i think it may help read better for the different mic positions in other orgs.

For DBDrag style metering port on drivers side seems to work best.

OP The biggest key to building a forward firing setup is making sure to COMPLETELY Seal the box, top, sides, rear deck etc... If you don't it will lose output.

Look for Peas247 he also did a forward firing setup thats just down right nasty!

Ian is correct on my best to date being a 151.0 in the lanes sealed at the dash @ 40hz.

i wish i had a sealed trunk //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif....i dont think i can ft my 4 tens.....can your box be back a little or does it have to be flush with the openeing?

I have mine pushed as far back as possible, which for my car is loudest, then I added sides and a top attatched to the face of the box to seal behind b-pillar.

So does this sound better than port side subs face rear? I have mine about 3 inches from rear wall. The seats fold down but I leave them up.
I've never done a setup with port to the side but with subs facing the rear I lost 2db on an average with 4 different boxes. I must say again this is for my car(06 GP) things may be different in other vehicles.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I was trying to save space by putting port on the side. What about cone noise. I have a loose spider inside, I been to lazy to fix, but thats one reason I havent moved the box around. is 2 bd's really going to make a listening difference? I am more interested in Music, with loud bass. All accurate, clean and clear

Sorry if seem to thread jack, just interested in the comparison to the wall your disscussing.

Both of those were completely sealed off from the trunk, expanding foam shot in every hole.

That SPL-X 12" Quad 1 with 2 1500D's @ 1 ohm a piece, did 151.3 @ 50hz. It had more in it, but I got tired of the burping one note wonders and I build 28hz ground pounders now, lol..

But it worked...

Oh and heres a real wall..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Ahh, the good times...

Well, I tested it out today with my Q that's in my car right now.

I just got home from college today to see my car again //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. Turned the box around facing into the cabin, and I lost ALOT of output. Guess it's just the nature of my car.

So I guess I won't be doing this "trunk wall". It looked really good too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif.

Thanks for all the responses, some of them look extremely nice.
