trunk rattle

its your trunk or liscense plate or somthing, maybe a spoiler? dont forget, you are INSIDE and usually if you can hear it OUTSIDE the thing that is rattling is OUTSIDE. that bass is LOUD and you cant hear over it i think. just look around your car until you find it, and then figure some way to stop it rattling, or go to your nearest home improvment store and buy some peel n seel. (basically its dynamat... aluminum foil type stuff, with a black tar\asphalt layer that has sticky stuff) and apply it to the inside of your trunk under the carpet.

that will stop almost any rattle. do a search for "peel n seel" in the forums. should find alot of info.

Let's get to the technical part of this; those noises you hear outside, guess what? They are also inside. Just because you can't hear them doesn't mean that they are not there.

Now with having said that, ALOT of the rattles you hear is your license plate. My suggestion is to remove it and find a decent sized rag, fold it several times, place behind plate and resecure plate. Any fancy moldings or other styling accessories will be suspect as well. Your best bet would be to remove them and glue them back down w/ silicone before you torque them down. Finally, a few layers of a deadening substance applied directly to the trunk walls will do about as much as possible. Anything left will have to be tolerated by those who pull up next to you laughing at your rattletrap.

thanks, guys //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif would dynamat work?

i dont think so. you might watnt to check lowes, or chase pitken, or home depot, heckingers those kinds of places. ace is kinda small... but who knows, they might. check the ROOFING section. its basically asphalt\tar with an outsite aluminum layer that you see, and a sticky underside. its to seal corners of roofs where they come together underneath the shingles without using liquid tar. good thing for us it also dampens a ton of vibrations too =)
