Trunk mounted disc changer problem

Like the title says..... problem? too much bass makes the thing skip. Any solutions for this? I stuffed my cd changer compartment with poly fill ( I had some extra) so that the cd changer does not touch any of the mounting or car frame.... it just kind of "floats" on top of the poly fill. It is a lot better now, but still skips. Am I just doomed? Under the seat option is out as I have both spots taken. Only other thing I can think of is the glove box, but I don't want to do that.

Why do I not use the decks cd? Becasue I have the avic N2 and I use Navi a lot, so I don't like to have to put the disc in every time I need to find an address.

buy a better changer. Something more high dollar may have better skip protection. Another option since you have the N2 is to use the aux input and get a MP3 player.

Thanks, I really don't want to spend high dollars just to have the thing skip again. And, I could get MP3 player, but I just like to listen to my CDs sometimes, and don't want to have to rip them into MP3's.

I guess one day I will get board and just custom fit it into the glove box. I am going to try one last thing, I am going to get some super thick foam and surround the cd changer. THat is the only other thing I have come up with.

foam like that great stuf will not really hlep that much. Might actualy help transfer the rattles to the changer since it dries hard and not soft and cushy.

Try mounting it in the glove box on little pads of supersoft rubber. You should be able to find something at Home Depot.

Score an ipod, I can't remember the last time I used a cd in my car, it's always ipod or xm radio for me. doubt you can isolate your changer enough for it to not skip if it's close to the subs, maybey relocate it up front?
