how did u get the cover piece in the trunk was it on the box when u put it in or after and then nailed or screwed it on

several cuts were made in the middle of the baffle (look at the first pic). then the entire thing can fold up a bit to clear the opening of the trunk. then it was nailed into place.

The dado cuts in the middle of the cover piece allow the board to bend.
