Not my trunk, but here is a picture i found on the net..

The top of the gas tank makes a great amp rack, but obviously it restricts things.. Like mentioned though, you can take out your speakers, and port the back deck, and cut out a hole in the arm rest. Also dont forget the insulation.. I am currently attempting a project to get this car to do a 150, which is going to be a task..

I would just remove the insulation behind the back seat. The only way to cut a hole where the arm rest is is to cut the metal behind it and as mentioned earlier this is where the gas tank is. Probably a bad idea. You could squeeze 8 cubes after displacement out of this trunk. I had to do some trunk mods to get my box in though. Might want to put some kind of sound dampener on the fuel pump shut off switch because it will shut the car off when the bass hits hard. I did this and it hasnt done it since. I have found that sub back port back is the loudest in these cars. Hope this helps man and goodluck.

You can just cut a hole behind the arm rest, and still get decent air flow. Just cut the cloth, not the metal, if youre nervous about doing it. Behind the seat has several vents to the trunk, so cutting a hole in the armrest helps a ton. Also, take take the seats off their latches, and just fold them back over. This makes a huge difference. The back seat has 2, or so hooks that the rear seat clamps on to, and if you just pull them off the hook, and lean the seat against the hook, it allows for more airflow aswell.

Yeah your right about taking the seat off the hooks after you take the insulation off it allow the air to flow straight into the cabin. I had the same idea about cutting where the armrest was but the gas tank is behind the armrest cloth, after I figured this out I didn't do it.

I installed a system in a grand marquis a while back. The trunk set up sucks at times, but I loved the easy amp rack.
Yeah its a great spot for an amp rack, just have to make sure you mount your amps up there on a board of mdf. My cousin has an 1990 crown vic, he mounted his amps straight to the metal. Took him forever to figure out where the gas smell was coming from.
