Trunk Box Build

I have not run into the issue of height in a trunk until now, i'm doing a early 2000s mustang and i'm limited to 11.25 inches of height. I am installing a HDS312 so I decided to go sub up and port back, like is common in hatches. My only issue is this is a trunk. Is it going to effect the spl enough to matter. This is going to be a straight daily driver.

Here are the box specs.

this guy wants to be able to pull the box out when ever he needs to. Other wise I would be building it from the inside and this would not be an issue. The sub has to be pointed up. Should I drop the height an inch or so and for more clearance of the sub? Lose some port area too. That way i'm around 2 cu feet net?
