True Bass Heads help me decide

I need to replace my L7 since I have blown 5 of them just off of a ZX1000. I will continue to use the amp, but I need a sub that can handle it.

Should I go with

Alphasonik PSW915 15"

or

Lanzar Opti 1533D 15"

I am a huge bass head the louder and lower the better and I listen to it all out all the time. I need something that will survive.

Thanks for the help

aw.

i thought this was going to be a thread about Tru Bass Solutions.

i was let down. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

have you checked your gains/settings after you blew the first sub? do you know if your clipping the signal or not? i would run through my install way before thinking about buying another subwoofer.

I have been at this for a while now, I meant the 5th one I have blown since they originally came out. My install is fine, the amp is not clipping. The subs always blow the voicecoils, I have had an old L5 that just locked up all together but for the most part it has been the voicecoils. I am just looking for opinions on the two subs since I haven't heard either one in person

and the gain on the amp has always been at 1/2 way with the bass boost also at 1/2
With a high prevoltage headunit this can easily be causing your speakers to blow. Learn how to set the gains properly and for the love of god don't use bass boost.

What size is ur l7? If it's a 10, then no wonder ur blowing it. If it's a 12 or 15, then its definitely your amp settings. Are u running it full tilt on songs that are below ur port frequency? What type of box u got? Im almost positive that it's your installation thats messing up the sub, not the sub itself just failing.

It is a 15" and I am not sure what the port freq is but the box was a design from kicker port and all built by an authorized kicker dealer. All of my settings through the eq on the stereo are low on the bass side. My thing with the bass boost on the amp is, with the amp only at 1/2 gain I wouldn't think it would be enough to grenade the sub like that

This. I blew an L7 by setting my gain at 3/4 with an HU that put out six volts. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Thanks for your infinite wisdom
Dude, if you've blown five L7's then getting a new sub isn't going to fix the problem. You'll blow another sub, get all pissed off, get another one, blow that too.

Unless you get your shit together and figure out WHY your subs keep exploding on you, all you're gonna do is waste more money.
