Saw an ad on ebay for 25 4ga power wire for $15, so i was like hell yeah! (wire in my area is like $3.50 a foot). Heres what I got. The wire on the left is my older, original 4ga power wire, which is labeled:
"600 Series, Gold Level, Hi Current, 3Inner Flow, 4ga, 25mm/2 Power Flow"
The new wire on the right is labeled:
"Pyramid High Strand, 4ga Pro Power Cable"
As you can see, it looks as if the new wire on the right has significantly fewer strands, and a much thicker coating. I'm wondering if this new wire is bullshit, or if it is a case of manufacturing less wire, with higher copper content to compensate for it's smaller size. Any suggestions?
