Truck Drivers

don't know. i know they cost a lotta money. and have some serious wieght to them. i think, and correct me if i'm wrong, but a few trucks might run off a 24v system. but u could get that with the 2 batterys also.

Hey, I own 3 dumptrucks and each one has 3 12 volt batteries. They are about 1000 cca and weigh about 40lbs each. You need that many batteries with that much power to start a diesel engine with such a high compression ratio (maybe 18:1 or somewhere in that area) and a large displacement. The biggest motor in one of my trucks is 12.7 liters, if that gives you a clue as to how much power you need to get one of these things started.

I thought about using one of the batteries myself in my trunk but the thing you have to remember is that these batteries aren't sealed and alot of them still have to be checked for acid level and pH and they still give off fumes (in a small amount).

So if you want to deal with that in your trunk or anywhere else in you car go for it. Let me know how it turns out. They make audio specific batteries for a reason:)

good point

i say put a meter on it to see if it is 12v. if it is, give it a try. i don't know how fast they will distarge vs one made for car audio though.
You wouldn't have to worry about discharge too much. I had an extra battery in my garage for a year that I had to put in one of my trucks after a battery went bad and it tested at about 11.7 after sitting all that time.
