Trouble wiring up new Eclipse CD8445

ok so i just got my new eclipse cd8445 in and everything works except the preset button lights and other small button lights, the main buttons light up but most of the others dont. Im assuming this problem is related to the dimmer/illumination wires. The harness that came with the eclipse just has an orange/white illumination wire and it instructs me to connect where power comes on when the headlights are turned on. The Metra harness (70-2003) i have however has two wires, an orange one labeled illumination and an orange/white one labeled dimmer. So i wire the orange white illumination wire from the deck to the orange wire from the harness. The preset buttons still dont light up, i try playing around with the dimmer control switch and turned the headlights on and off, still no go. So i change it around and hook up the wire to the orange/white dimmer wire from the metra harness, still no go. Can somebody help me resolve this problem?

I am actually having the same problem with my 8455, I have not really messed with it to much though. I hardly notice it. I will try to check into it for both of us though.
