trouble hitting the low notes

I just got a 10" cerwin vega and all around its a decent sub, especially for what I paid but It seems like it's having trouble hitting the low notes, could this be because the box is too small? Should I poly fill it?

hed 10.4. got it off ebay for 35 buks and I thought it was a bargain but I dont think cerwin vega is what they used to be.

also I poly filled the box, (maybe too much) but now it doesn't play the higher end bass notes. Its loud, low and boomy. Im gona take some poly fill (I stuffed most of the box) out I'd hate to buy a 3rd sub in a matter of 3 weeks.

wow 30 bucks... seems like this sub can be refurbished or a fake??

i have a 15" cerwin vega vmax-15dvc and **** am i happy with these
