Triple X ****

the setup is mine. his name he derived from mine. the box i made myself, probably not the best, it's the first one i made. 2.7 cubes, tuned to 33hz(imo too low, when i make another it'll be like 40-50hz), he said it sounds like shit cause of how much my trunk rattles. on certain bass notes my trunk from the inside and the outside rattles more than 95% of the cars i've heard. and because of the rattling i generally don't turn it up too loud. the sub is wired series/parallel to a jbl 1200.1. i personally am satisfied with it accept for the rattling. i mean...for one 12...everyone is really impressed. most people think it's like 2 12's or a 15 or something. his 'boy' with the 15 hitting 165 is what a local shop around here advertises...kitty is probably friends with the guy...i dunno we aren't really close friends anymore. oh, another reason he might think it sounds like shit is because of how it sounds on certain notes. like higher notes...if it isn't low, i'd say around 40-50 hz or less it sounds pretty bad. but i lost interest to ask what was wrong or how to fix it

LOL

I think you misunderstood.....that score of 165 is obviously ridiculous....so nswartley asked what mic was used....mattj said an uncalibrated audiocontrol (unaccruate mic, esp. above 150) in the port.....thats basically the only way you could get a 165 with that setup.

Hehe. If they can use that 165 number, does that mean we can claim 181 dB for the Brahma? I found out that Scottie Johnson metered that near one of his subs. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif And I believe that was with a Linear-X mic. So how loud would that be on an AC mic?

It looks like the Brahma is better, right? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

wouldn't the AC mic simply blow up? Well, not blow up, I've always thought that they don't reach 170dB...

There was a discussion sometime back about how it's impossible to break 180 or something, due to atmospheric pressure or something.
