tried to install capacitor now car wont start

5 mins. i had a dead battery before and it would never shut off completely for 5-10 mins like it does now. i can turn on the radio and it works fine. lights are very bright as well. when i try to start it, all i get is 1 click and everything just shuts off...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

what kind of car? older? could be the solenoid...

try to start it a bunch of times and see if it starts. Like keep trying to start it, turn the key to start and then if it clicks, go back to on, and then back to start, and see if itll "catch" and start.

its an acura 3.0 cl 1997. i tried but i cant try too many times cuz i have to wait for 5-10 mins after each try. its impossible to start it cuz right as i turn the ignition on, everything just dies after the click...

im willing to bet you have a loose battery connection somewhere...

Connections are not loose.. the car just started all of a sudden. i played around with the power windows, heated seats and wipers then tried to start it and it worked. Now it seems to be working fine. Pretty wierd im thinking what went wrong when i tried to install the capacitor...

are you lying to us sir? I think it was a wire, and youre too embarrassed to enlighten us that we were right.

no i wouldnt lie..lol i havent even checked the wire. it could be but im sure i tightened it pretty well.... I think u guys are right after all cuz its wierd that the poiwer would go back on if i slammed the door...

now whats a safe way to connect the capacitor?

so far i grounded the amp and the cap seperately.. the wire from the cap to the amp is really short and both ground wires are longer. Its a 2farad cap and my amp is kicker kx1200.1
