Trickle charging Yellow Top

So i finally got a yellow top today....It's resting at around 11.7 volts....I plan on charging it before installing it...The battery charger is an automatic one and has a few different settings...just wondering which one i set it on....theres 12v 10a, 12v 2a.....theres also 6v 10a but that is a manual setting so i assume i would have to watch it.....anyone know what to do? 12v 2a would be better than 10a, especially on an Optima, they dont like being charged high amperage

Let it go all night just put it on a piece of wood or something underneath it not directly on concrete that can **** the juices right out of it.

Well i haven't used it since thanksgiving...but i used it today...Its a generic wet cell...The voltage was at about 11.6...I might just get another batt...This battery is at least 3years old...

alt should charge the hood battery as long as the car starts.

but if it constantly drops after non use for a few days i'd say time for a new battery

right, that is a little low, but the alt should charge it. Really you should get it checked and see what cca you have, sometimes the voltage readings are misleading

12v 10a can kill your Optima. One of the reasons I gave up on Optimas and got a Deka.
