Treo SSX not loud???

I guess I missed the vehicle you have this Treo Sub in

It all in the box

Sub and port placement

For spl you need lots of port area

Sounds like your tuning frequency is to low too, for spl try a higher frequency 40-50 hz (for SPL not Music)

I have a SSX 15 in a Mustang with a treo SSX 2000.1

In about a 4 cuft box ported to 38 hz, works well (over 140)

I had a SSX and ran it on anywhere from a strapped pair of Kicker SX1250's, to quad SX1250's then to a SS 6500 and finally on a DD Z1a. I loved that sub, sounded great and under any power I put it at there was no way in hell I could bottom it out, was that stiff. 4.5cf Net, 60in of port tuned to 40hz will get you where you want and you need more power, lots more... Polo

BTW- I had a pair of SSI 10.22's on a strapped pair of SX1250's they sounded great, common chamber 2.2cf with 21in of port @ 38hz.

have a treo ssx 15. in 4.5 cubes tuned to 34. and does not get loud. iIv tried different boxes, different cars. runnin off about 2000 watts (amp in sig) loudest i can get it is 140 on the tl.....in a hatch. obviously something is wrong, but don't know where else to look. i have a yellowtop in back, 0ga all around, brand new amp, no HO alt, but for burps, 140dbs??? what ways can I test a sub to see if its the problem???

If you do not have a HO Alternator I guarantee that is a big part of your problem. a stock alternator is your lucky will give you only 50 amps with nothing running like the heat, lights wipers etc. Most stock alt. are 80 amp on cars. 30 amps of juice is what you run just to have the car running. If your volts drop down to 11.5 that means your amp is only going to be pushing 575 watts. Not enough for a sub like that to perform at its best. Go to Motor city and you can pick up a HO alt for around 350. My system was not loud at all until I put the alt in. Then it was a huge difference at least double in loudness.

kinda knew the stock elec. wouldn't hep much, but HO alts for this car aren't cheap. none of the parts are. gettin a new vehicle this month. when I get it, the first thing to go oin there is a HO alt. just gotta get the car first.

only putting 2k on a 4" coil isn't going to phase it.

yea i dont really think an alt will help a with a box thats not efficient enough , nice thaught tho... after a box optimised for his sub/car/amp if hes not happy and actually need the volts then itll be a better idea..... i think a new box will be a night and day diff...... id also listen to polo i trust what he says.....

That sub needs around 4kw daily they start getting really loud around 3000-3200wrms daily and 4kw daily they scream, i heard two 18s on 12000wrms doing a 151.?db on the windsheild at 28hz it was crazy!
