Treo SSX not loud???

depends how high ya want it i got tons of peices of around that are 15" x 4' so that can be the sides , let me know how big ya want cause i need to go get 3 more peices cut from him

you clearly have no clue how box designing works.
changing the box size can have MANY different effect on the subwoofers performance. the box needs to be smaller for the 15" simple as that.
yes i do. show me proof that changing the box size and box size alone will increase overall spl a worthwhile amount.

obviously different box sizes will change the sound but a smaller box and smaller box alone will not raise overall spl.

your argument is invalid

if a box is too large it can become an EBS (extended bass shelf) where it will only play a certain amount of frequencies at the higher level and the f3 will be raised and the output will drop substantially after that point.

its like saying to put a 12" in a 15" box, if the 12 needs 2 cubes, and you put it in a 4 cube box meant for a 15" the output will be substantially less.

depends on which line your talking about...the ssi line is more sq oriented while the ssx and csx are spl lines having the ssx as a daily sub and the csx a comp sub
the SSi does not sound that good... well at least not in the box they recommended me to build. had a ten in 1.75 net tuned to 35 and then 32 with 21 square inches or port, both sounded ok on rap with long drawn out notes, but on double bass it sounded sloppy as hell. and they are definitely very very bottom heavy.

if Treo actually thinks the ssi is an SQ sub then they have no idea what a sub should sound like.

i do remember reading once or twice that the SSi is a good SQ sub but that is not the case.

I have a feeling it might just have been your setup. In my personaly experience and from what Ive heard people say they are sq oriented. It just takes finding that sweet spot in your setup. Hell my tsx's got down and sounded pretty good while doing it too.

well i had it in the exact box they told me to build when i called and asked them for box specs.

but i have a feeling the SSi's would do well in a small sealed box. they have a shitload of very usable xmax and a strong motor.

i am much happier with my current sub. i'm just glad that i didn't have a penny into the SSi(it was given to me to demo by a friend at a car audio shop).

I would like to try and ssi in a sealed box but your current set up looks very pleasing.
i ****ing love it! i have never heard such a good sounding sub before. i have never heard bass reproduced so accurately. if you love double bass it's the setup for you. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
