Why is the IXL being price reduced ??

I am wanting to go to an 18" subwoofer for my van but dont want to pay out the rear end for one, and I have been considering for a long while either two Maw 18's or best yet the IXL 15.2.2 as a single driver setup in my vehicle. The price cut made me skeptic so anyone please advise.

Also any posted numbers on these Maw drivers ??? Especially the 18's ??? I will be searching the forum, so dont tell me to search LOL I have 15 mins left here at the library.

Man I did an IXL 18 in a 12 ft^3 sonotube tuned to 18 Hz. 1000 watt RMS dayton rack mount subwoofer amp. It is sweet for a $250 driver.

don't be skeptic, Mach5 is one of the best brand out there. Just for the simple fact that Mark, the owner, is not out to make money but just to provide the best bang for the buck.

The MJ-18s hit around 140ish in a trunk car with 2 of them I think. Don't know anything about the IXL though

off 1200watts? it's pretty loud for a daily driver. And i beleive it was about 145.xx. I'm not too sure though, search through SSA and you'll probably find it.

Besides, the MJ-18 is far from an SPL sub. You use the SPL series for that

im doing at least a 140 with 2 MJ18s SEALED with only 800 watts to the pair....they are nioce

The MAW line does not include an 18". There is the MJ 18" and the IXL 18". FWIW, I am strongly considering two MJ-18s for my truck. Although I won't have 1200w (only 1,000 combined) it should do pretty well if I make the box on the large side (3.5cf/sub)

And if it don't work out, I can always take them in the house. For, what $116/sub, it isn't a bad deal at all.

Im just wondering if the xmax of the IXL is going to make a more punchy difference than having two MJ 18's , or will I still be looking at things shaking and quaking with the Mj's ?

IXL looks dead sexy not to mention. ???

If you are just getting 1 sub i would get the IXL.

EDIT: plus its only 20$ it could be just to move them.

I have settled a family arguement about ported vs. sealed using the knowledge you guys gave me through the years //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. My pair of Orion P series 10" subwoofers hit 130+ (wal-mart db meter) at the dash of my van with the subs 13ft away making my windshield wipers bounce. I shut out 4 visonik 10's to end a 2 1/2 year audio arguement about ported sux compared to sealed when my IB setup with those 10's astonished my shit talking cousin's and shut them up. Now the new arguement is to be settled, they argue to their blue in the face saying that 10's hit the low's better than 15's or 18's ((mind you they have not researched anything you guys provide that I have learned from you all)) , and so now I am going to use these cheap 18's to hit harder than my previous setup, and also to show 18's not only hit the low's better , but are louder , and can sound just as clear but more than anything they dont beleive a pair of 18's will have the punchy bass a 10 does. So any input on my quest here to prove them wrong would be nice.
