Treo SSi's

well i can tell you i had one and hated it.

very inefficient, lacked SQ big time when ported to treo's specs. i had it on just under 900 watts and it needed more. i went with what i have now and am much happier. way better sq and just as loud off 300 watts less power and a third of the box size. the ssi is really nothin special IMO.

i was going to try it in the recommended sized sealed box but found something else. luckily the ssi was pretty much given to me to "demo" so i just gave it back when i got sick of it. i had no money into it.

i'd be willing to guess that there are plenty of other 10 inch subs out there that will work well in .85 cubic feet, handle about 750 watts, and be under 6" deep.

If the Dayton came in a 2ohm version I would seriously be looking at something like that...needs to be either a dual4, dual1, or 2ohm sub
why do you need to wire at 1 ohm? subs with higher impedances usually are more sensitive so they wouldn't need as much power. i'd much rather not need as much power.

i don't know if i'd recommend the HO's sealed off a ton of power though. they excel when in small ported boxes.

but like i stated earlier, i think there are plenty of other subs that will suit your needs.

I've looked and can't really find anything that fits both power & mounting depth at the same time...closest I've come is an SSA Icon but it is right at 6" and I don't feel like cutting a hole in the back of my sub box, then sealing it back up to make it fit.

And I figure switching out a TC sub for an Audiopulse sub will give me the same thing I have now

Will be Treo dealer real soon, so hang on to your horses, just heard every line they have and got to mess with every amp they have on sunday, and my brother is selling his CTS to get a H2 hummer to run all treo 2 18s plus two 4.1ds which is around 11,000wrms they do 5900wrms each, and im switching to 4 15" Treos off of one 6.1D which is 8000wrms+!!! There nasty subs the two 18" SSXs i heard are rated at 2500wrms and were getting 5000wrms+ on music for 20min straight and never even thought twice, and was doing a 153 @ 28hz in a cadillac EXT blow threw style!!

I'm willing to wait until something right comes along...not into all the db ratings and all that though...I just know how loud (and still clean) I like it to be is all...and want to make sure it does my Sundown amp justice.

well the Treo SSi will be good if you have a shitload of power and are not to heavily concerned with SQ. but they might do better sealed. i searched and searched and searched back when i had mine to see if anybody had any results with them sealed and everybody just runs them ported.

but they have a ton of xmax so they might do ok sealed with a good amount of power, but who knows. to me they just lacked up top and sounded really sloppy on double bass. if you're into prog metal they won't do well ported, that i know.

They just don't seem as loud as I thought they'd be putting almost 800rms to each of them...maybe downfiring has something to do with it...used to have some diamond D6's and they were louder but didn't handle to lows so well
