Trading in my L7's, need ideas

My boy wants my two 10" L7's in a sealed box. I'm using the PPI PCX1500 amp. It's 500w @ 4 ohms and 1,000w @ 2 Ohms. This amp is not 1 Ohm stable.

I've always had two 10" subs in a sealed box. I'm looking at mainly SQL subs. I won't do another 10" and would like to go 15" if I could get one that sounds ok. I will also probably be porting this sub, again, for something different.

I was looking into the W7's, why? I'd get a 3 Ohm load which should be 750wrms with my amp. I figured if I used a large ported box this would be enough power. I do have a subsonic filter. Anyone know where I get get some good prices on the internet, especially for the loaded boxes? I probably won't buy it online, just need something to take to my favorite local dealer.

I'm not going to go Brahma, I have my reasons.

How loud can a 15" IDQ get? Any single ported SQ or SQL sub that can get as loud as my current setup will be seriously considered.

why not the brahma???? you could 2 of those or 2 e12a's or one of each and amp to match. I would nt go with the w7 just because of the price. as far as I have heard good sub though.

if you can, go ahead. brahmas and ed As r good choice, but the W7s are great subs too just way overpriced. but hey, it's ur money, spend it in anything you want

Elemental Designs is a very, very strong possibility. I'm kind of waiting for the "problem" to arise though. The reason I'm leaning towards the W7 is because all its cheaper competitors seems to have problems. Brahma has the tinsel lead slap as well as the backorder issue, can't even remember the IDMAX's problem but I wanted one so bad but you could never get ahold of one cause they were all getting repaired. Blueprint's only had 1 voice coil and their site never seemed to work properly. I just said forget it for the most part, I've always liked the way the W7's looked and they seem to be the reference for every subwoofer anyways (every top end sub is said to either be better or not as good as the W7). I'm not some rich guy by any means, but I am the kind of guy two months from now won't care what I payed for it, only how it performs.

So, as an alternative to the W7, what about 1 or 2 E15A.22's? Or E12A.22's? Can anyone that has heard the ED's comment? Long as its louder than my L7 10's its all good. Do the ED's perform well in ported enclosure's?

Still haven't gotten a chance to hear a XXX. What is their direct prices on 12's and 15's?

well the e12 or e15a is alot more efficient so you would not need 20000000 watts to get it going. which would save you on amps.

I've already got the amp. That's HALF of the problem. It's 1Kw @ 2 Ohms and 500w @ 4 Ohms and is not 1 Ohm stable.
