Trading in my Car....thoughts..

I've had my G35 for a few months and I'm driving it like crazy. No, not like a madman, just driving it too much. I spend an easy $300 on gas per month and have been thinking about trading it in for a Yaris hatchback. Generally, how much less than the trade in value do dealerships give? For the same information, on Edmunds the trade in value is 21k, but on KBB it's 17.6k. Do they use KBB and is the trade in value negotiable?

Dude, consider yourself lucky if you can get 12.5 out of trading it in. Didn't you like install deadener and do all kinds of work to it? I might sell my car locally, but I will never trade it in. Just get a beater to fart around in and keep that one for the times you want to look good on the town.

Only thing I would trade a g35 in on is an M45.

They usually go by the one you don't say first.

If I were to sell my car I'd like to see at minumum 20k out of it since it's pretty much fully loaded. Just doesn't have the sports package.

All I did to the car audio wise was put deadener on the trunk lid, no big deal if I lose out on that. I would love to have the M class, but too pricey, and anyway I want something much more economical at the moment so I can get my own place.

Yaris is garbage man, look into the Scion variant or the Honda Fit
The yaris interior is made so cheaply its not funny.
I just want something with a good engine and will run for a while and I know Toyotas and Hondas will do that, plus it's hard buying a new Fit for around 14k OTD, but with the Yaris it is possible. The one I'm wanting is the hatchback that has the convenience package, TRD lowering springs and strut bar with manual transmission.

My fiancee has a yaris liftback. We both really like the car. 43mpg on highway trips. Overall a good car, I don't think the interior is cheap. I already put new door speakers in it and a double din cd player and soon a sub and amp. The door panels were made better than the ones in my new colorado and were more sturdy. Also it is made 100% in Japan.

trade in value, is not negotiable, you get what they'll give you

when i traded in my last car kbb on it was 12k trade in

they gave me 6.5k

trade in value has not much to do with the car itself, but of how much value the car your trading in is to them, if it's a car that's in demand, and will only be on their lot for a week or so, sure you might get kbb.

if it's something no one wants, eats alot of gas, or is just a pos, they're not going to give you shit.

sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that's the way it works.

you best bet is to try to sell it private party, if you ever expect to get that much out of it. theres no coming out on top if you work with a dealer. they'll always find a way to **** you

I thought about the idea over the weekend but decided to pass. I did think about getting a beater, and if I do, hopefully my friend's friend is selling car, but other than that it's tough finding one that is in good condition and from someone who is not pulling my leg.

Not true my girl has a Yaris she's had it for over a year now and the interior still looks brand new. Not a bad little clown looking car IMO.

I got mine for 14 OTD with Half down. Sport Edition and got window tint thrown in //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Compare the Yaris to the Fit interior is no comparision. I think the Scion interior may be a bit nicer than the yaris, personally I was far from impressed when I test drove the Yaris.

I guess to each their own. I haven't looked at the Honda Fit's except the exterior so I can't comment on the interior.
