Tough decision: JL 300/4 or PDX 4.150

Im looking mostly for SQ here, price really doesnt matter.

Ive had JL e series 4ch amps before and I know they are clean and solid amps. the 300/4 is rated at 75x4, and it would visiually match well with my 1000/1.

I never heard a PDX before, but they seem very tempting. Plus it had double the power of the 300/4, and its smaller.

Im trying to convince myself to get the PDX, but I keep picturing that matching 300/4 next to my 1000/1, plus I like the way my last JL sounded.

Honestly, I'd go with the JL. But, I'm biased. "Brand loyal" I guess.

So Ive read that double the power equals 3db gain in volume. It doesnt seem like a whole lot.

Im running Pioneer Revs and a JL 6w3v3 front stage. The JL is bridged.

I have the 4.150 pdx along with its big brother the 1000.1.I like the way they look together---they both look the same....They are very clean D class didital amps.......I have run f450-4 channel(alpine)that is a/b class amp.70 rms x 4 @ 4 ohms...100rms @ 2 ohms...Until I heard the 2 pdx work with a complete 'R' set up....I was amazed...clean..clear...deep...and punchy...fast response time..[subs].I like the JL also----owned both.I'll say one thing though 2 JL amps on a cool amp rack are impressive--especially that 1000/1.At the moment,I'm all Alpine,from the 9847 source unit to the 2 'R' 12" subs in my slot ported enclosure.Good Luck....Let me know what you decide....Alpine50

Forgot to finish a thought in previous post.The two JL's would look like they are matching and would look great together.A very classy install indeed!!Just like my two pdx amps.The PDX amps are "stackable"...good luck...Alpine50
