Total noob, stupid question.(fiberglass)

About how thick is 7-9 layers of fiberglass after it has cured? I have seen many pictures and it seems to be pretty thin stuff.

depending on the weight (most stores sell ~6oz weight per square yard) its about 1\8 to 1\4 inch thick.

why? the layers dont matter, its all about having it strong enough. as long as its not flexing - dont even worry how many layers are on there.

it wont make a notible difference. dont even worry about it. measure the volume after you make the enclosure.

thats the only way you could correctly calculate the volume of a fb box anyway.

sealed dimensions aint overly critical any way. you can eye ball an aproximate ft3age. but for ported boxes you ought to get that XXXX perfect dimension to optimize performance and sound.
