hello everyone... im new to this forum... i tried asking

a car audio question on an acura forum and was

directed to you guys...

here goes...

i have a 2004 accord EX V6 no navigation.

i want to keep the headunit stock to preserve the

look of the interior not to mention the features of the

headuint...

i do not believe there are sub outs...

i have a kenwood 600w amp with both RCA and speaker line inputs

i have 2 12" JBL's in a bandpass box

i want to get this hooked up in my new car

i want to do this myself so there arent any

people poking around messing up my new car...

my main questions outside of the obvious "how do i do this"

are:

1. can i just tap the rear speakers to the speaker line inputs without

spending extra money on the RCA line converter???

2. what do i do with the p. conn remote wire [this i assume turns on the

amp when i turn on the car??? it was attached to a blue wire on my

old pioneer head unit in my old car that this set up came out of...???

hey, i said i was a noob... thanks for any assistance... please dont

refer me to search as i have not enough experience to apply basic

car audio knowledge anyways...

1. yes

2. you need to hook it up to a switched 12v source.

Pref a remote/power antenna lead. If you dont have those on that H/U you can wire it to a switch or the radio 12v switched.

well thats cool on number one... i didnt think i would have too much of a

problem with that...

2. there is no power antenna... i read things about the fuse box???

this is the part i may as well be blind doing...

Well even if there was a power antenna, most of them only turn on when the radio is on, not CD. Your option is to tap into the +12V switched power (like supa_c said) going to the factory deck, will need a test light for this unless someone can tell you what colour it is.

You can probe the unused slots in the fuse box and find one that only has power when the iginition is on or turned to accessory. Then you can put a male spade connector on the end of the remote on wire and plug it into that unused slot.

i could use a volt meter for this???

That is totally the wrong way to do it. For one you run the risk of one of the wire strands touching a connection on another fuse and shorting stuff out.

i was just going to ask about that... hmmm... so basically the "best way" would

be to find an open slot that is 12volts??? then get the spade connector from i

assume radio shack and put it in like a fuse???
