I need some advice for what to put in my 08 jeep grand cherokee... I don't know much about car audio but was wondering if yall could tell me what I should get? I just want a good smooth sounding set up and have $600 to spend. Kind of want a touch screen head unit but that might be too expensive? Not sure but any advice would be appreciated.. like what kind of subwoofers and amp etc.?

$600 to spend total for everything speakers, subwoofer, amps, wiring and box? if so forget about a touchscreen head unit youll blow your budget there.

touch screen head units that arent garbage are 300+

You can get a touch screen head unit, and amp your speakers along with adding a subwoofer. The speaker will sound better with a new head unit since stock head units arent that good and stock speakers can handle a good bit of power once they are crossed over properly.

Pioneer AVH-X1700S (avhx1700s) Double DIN In-Dash DVD/CD/AM/FM

Pioneer AVH-X1700S DVD receiver at Crutchfield.com

those two sites give you the install accessories you need and the dash kit included as long as you specify your vehicle.

Soundstream TA5.1250 Tarantula Series 1250W 5-Channel Amplifier

Amazon.com : KFC-W3013PS : Vehicle Subwoofers : Car Electronics

build your own box to save cash.

I read on a jeep forum that double din head units do not fit in grand cherokees so does that mean I need a single din head unit or can I make a double din fit somehow?

get a single din man. swap out that head unit for a clarion cz 702 and get yourself a nice pair of component speakers for the fronts. with the money saved. Grab the Morel maximo components.

You dont need to waste money on rear speakers, you need to focus your cash on the front where you are driving and enjoying the music.

this is all you need lol Amazon.com: Pyle PBMSPG200 Street Blaster X High-Power Rugged and Portable BoomBox Speaker System, Bluetooth, NFC Wireless, USB Recording: Electronics Bluetooth, usb, ported enclosure, digital high power amp, this will be my next system he he,
but in all seriousness if you want rear fill I could send you a pair of planet audio 5.25" coax. for the price of shipping (between 10 to 20 bucks I would imagine) .
that has got to be the most hideous concoction from pyle yet....
