top of box rattles

The only part of my box that rattles is the top, when I push down on it the noise stops.

It is not glued yet but I fear sincei t is the biggest side it will rattle even after its glued, can I just add a 2x4 or something to the inside to make it not rattle when I glue it?

um....if its not glued yet you shouldnt be using the box

Well I put it in my car and havent glued it yet because I wanted to maek sure everything worked. I had to put the lid on in the trunk. Right now its only screwed

Yeah I know, I just wanted to get everything right before I glued the top because I wont be able to take the box back out without cutting it otherwise.

Does this make no sense?

I havent glued it yet, I just screwed it.

Im basically asking if I could add a few 2x4s to make it not flex or if that doesnt work

How wide is this said piece....it it isnt to long than it should be fine....few strips along the piece couldnt hurt

you could add wood glue to all the seems. or something anything to seal all the leaks

he put the box into the car without glueing it to test fit it and he didnt glue it because he didnt want to have to rip the box up if he screwed up ... glue and possibably a 2x4 in the middle to brace it
