tools for box building

ok, i'v been building boxes for some time now (bout the last year or so) and i'm wanting to finally get some tools. Here's a list of the tools I already own:

circ saw

jig saw

(2) 90deg angle clamps (3")

(1) 36" clamp

wood glue

air compressor (not sure on size, it's about 3 1/2-4ft tall and pretty big around)

various screws, etc etc

I've been looking at some table saws, routers, brad nailer, etc etc and i'm just wanting some input/suggestions from someone more knowlegable than me. So can you guys recommend some good quality, not to expensive tools? I'd rather buy durable/not pos tools the first time around, than some crappy ones over and over again.

A Jasper Jig and a router that fits it (partsexpress has a 2pack of all the Jasper you'll need to cut holes), spiral up-cut, flush and a set of roundover bits for said router. A good sander.

You will need at least 4x the amount of clamps you have there.

Good suggestion. The Jasper Jig is about the best tool I've bought in a long time. As far as the other things you mentioned....definately a good table saw and a nail gun. I bought a Craftman for less than $200 and it works great. Good luck

lol, forgot that one, yes I have a drill too

I just bought the clamps, I do plan on getting some more, what's the biggest they have? I'd like to get at least a 50" with a couple 12's and 24's, maybe another 36 as well as more angle clamps (do they make them more than 3"?)

Im not up to par with tool terminalogy just so ya know lol

Just use screws, they hold stronger.

Glue holds the box together, not screws.

I bought a "budget" brad nailer at Harbor Freight for $25 and it's been working fine for the past 6 months. Even came with a complete rebuild kit for all the parts that can wear out.

That one you showed from Lowes should be more than enough.

what do you need the compressor for? anyways, get your self another 36" clamp. i have 4 and i think i need 2 more the more the better. get the job done faster i guess.

I got a table saw,miter saw,skill saw,router,cordless drill

compressor,brad nailer,air stapler,paint sprayer,box linner spayer

clamps,router table,jig saw and a few other odds and ends..

and I use every tool I got on a regular bassis ..I build on the average

of 2 a week..
