too much vent area?

I would like to build a 2.5cubic foot box for my dd 3512e and tune it pretty low and move some air... i will be using a old school us amps 100hc at .75ohms. close to 1k to 1.3k this is for daily music and will be using a slot vent. sub forward vent back. the front sub will be angles to fit the seat and the back will have the vent on the bottom.

on 2.38 net (that's net!! after port displacement and speaker displacement) you should run a 14" x 2.25" port. The port will be 26" deep. The tune will be approximately 33 to 34Hz.

This means you'll need a 3.13 cubic foot box with a 15.5" side for the port.

You need to provide some max dimensions.

alright.. i will let you know tonight what i have for demensions. and the vent should be 26" deep.. and u think 31 square inches of vent will be fine?? I was thinking more along 50

i would go with about 15-16 sq. inches per cubic foot of box volume.

You could do whatever port area you want. I don't think you need 50sq, but if you want it, give your max dimensions. 40sq" is plenty. I thought 31sq" would work, but I'm no DD expert, they may like more.

dd's website says 44^2" with a vent at 16" long with 2.5 net volume.. they say that tunes to 40hz.. that sound correct?

ok 15-16 inches tall by 20-22 inches wide by 25-30 inches long. all are a little flexible but the 15-16" tall

EDIT: my current box is 15" tall by 20 inches deep by 25" wide.. sub and vent firing back but the vent has too little area so therefore i want a new box. I want to be able to get the lows.

EDIT #2: I also have 1/4 lips on each side with a double front baffle for flush mount also got to take into consideration sub and vent displacement.
