hi guys, im pretty inexperienced in hooking up car stereos and stuff, and a friend directed me to this forum, so im hoping you guys can help me out a bit... any input would be appreciated, thx

i plan on getting 2 infinity perfect 10s, cuz i hear they have pretty good SQ, but im not sure whether i should go with a jbl 600.1 to power them, which should be enough, or just pick up the jbl 1200.1, just in case i want to upgrade to 12s in the future. or would the 1200 be too much for the perfect 10s to handle?

i would say go with the 1200 you can always turn down the gain. and i bet the 1200 doesnt put out 1200 watts rms. i bet it is a peak. but i would say the 1200.1 would be nice with the perfects.

not all perfect subs are dvc, they just came out with the dvc a little bit ago, they all used to be svc. and if i were you, id run those 10s off the 1200.1 and turn the gain down, it should power those subs good(more power is better than less power with turning the gain up which will cause distortion)

300 watts to each sub with the 1200.1? that sounds alright, a little less than i had expected though, is that bcuz the perfect 10s are dvcs, would there be any difference btween the dvcs and the svcs subs, i'll get the svc 10s if i can get more power to the single voice coils with that amp, theyre the exact same price as the dvcs

by the way, eardrummin, how do you like the setup that you have in your ride? with the 2 sets of perfect comps & and the 2 12s? im thinking of going with something just like yours. the SQ is probably really good, but does still hit ? what kind of car do you have? ive got a vw gti.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

well heres just a shameless bump for myself...

really though, i'll probably go with the JBL 1200.1 and the dvc perfect 10s , but i have another question...

i'm probably gonna change out my interior speakers to the infinity perfect 6.5" comps for both fronts and rears. theyre 100w rms and 400w max, i need an amp that will really push these suckers, im thinking the jl 300/4 but theyre a little pricey or should i just get another JBL, i think theyve got a 80 x 4...please help im really lost....

those amps and speakers are just some that i had in my newbie mind at the moment, they are in no way concrete plans for my system at all, i admit, i havent heard that many amps or speaks, the only thing i know i'll be getting for sure is gonna be a new Pioneer P940MP hu, so any suggestions and recommendations from you guys would totally be appreciated...

i just want a system with good SQ, and for all the parts to work together the first time around, i'll probably end up paying up the *** for the install too, as i dont have the neccessary skills or tools to do the install myself i.e. building the box...

thx in advance for all future replies.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
