i just got 2 CADENCE TXA300.2 600 WATT amps

here

Audio Savings | CADENCE 600w RMS 2 CHANNEL COMPETITION CAR AMPLIFIER

and i have 2 cadence Q drive subs, pretty old i got them used and have had them for a couple years but still pound, i had them hooked up to 2 600watt american pro amps (which i believe is a lesser quality amp than the cadence) for a while but finally blew those

sub specs

Q12-W4

65 oz Magnet

4-OHM

SPL - 92dB @ 1W/1M

Power Handling - 300 WATT RMS/ 500 WATT PEAK RMS

i have a 2farad capacitor to use

and i really want to know before hookin it up if having one to each sub will be too much power and blow my subs??

ok iv done my homework on caps and i now see what you are talkin about, iv always done my own systems but im no expert, dont they held a charge in them and help to keep my alt. workin overtime?? wutev. i used it to stop the dimming and will proly still use one till i get around to "UPGRADE THE BIG THREE" AND get a bigger batt. AND alt.

but can i get an awnser on my question?? the amps are twice as much rms as the subs.. can i just set the gain low on the amps? and also what about those bass knobs? worth installing? can i splice them cuz i have 2? please and thank you

The TXA amps are good "budget" amps. Nothing great. They won't do rated power at 4 ohms so if your subs are 300-500w rms one 3002 per sub should be just right (or are they just 300w rms/500w peak?)

I would start out conservative with the gains, but if everything sounds good I think standard setting should work well.

The "600 watt" American Pro I used years ago (vs-1405) had a 30A fuse, and seemed fairly powerful for its perceived low quality. The Cadence is more powerful, but not WAY more.

well im not sure if they are 500w max peak or rms peak, they are deff. the Q12-W4 model, but those specs are just what i found for 12' cadence q drive online, would be bad if it was only 500w max output?

i have the same vs-1405 american pro's one to each sub and i always like those amps too, super loud people said it hurt their ears, i dont even know whats wrong with them.. took face plate off and didnt see anything burnt or anything? what could it be? the one just wont turn on at all and the other one does for a second and then dies... iv always had 25A fuses on them would that mess em up? before the first one died it was sending this pulsating signal to my subs like a heartbeat a steady thump , i unpluged the rcas and it stoped, tried my friends cheap 1000sony xplod amp and it still did it, the heartbeat thing... its the amps right? or the rcas? iv got new db link wire kit comin w the amps if it is
