guys if im pushing 600W from my amp to a 12" Alpine Type R rated at 500W RMS, will it damage the speaker? i understand the theory (engineer here), but was just wondering if real world application was different than paper. thx in advance

Either should be fine, dont play the speaker at full blast all the time and set the gains correctly.

The people doing that 1000 -1200 on one woofer pretty much know what they are doing, not trying to imply you dont, but I know with 600 watts, you wont even make it sweat. The 800, I would watch the gains a little. Good luck guys!

Make sure you set your gains with a dmm. Not saying you wont/havent...but we have to say it because of how some ppl think. Check the quote in my sig

you'll be fine with 600 watts, more power also is box dependant with massive power.
