Too much power to HEAD UNIT?????

Hello,

I was installing a HEAD UNIT for my lady's 03 expedition (With wiring harness).

One minute it was working just fine , then the next it wasn't.

The problem was that the fuse on the YELLOW wire (12 volt/battery memory) kept blowing.

This seems that there is too much power going to the HU.

If so, HOW??

The wiring to the HU is correct as i have followed the wiring diagram.

It's the correct fuse,,,,,,,,, The wiring is correct,.......What els could it possibly be????

Only thing I can think of would be a short in the wiring. This may be a pain to try, but, if you know someone with the same brand HU try hooking up your HU with their wiring. Can't think of anything else right now, sorry.

Np , Thx BIGred,

For the life of me i just cant figure what the **** happened, should have left it, was already having a very bad luck week .................

One thing I would check is, pull out the deck, and test your power wires, or the one that the fuse keeps blowing on, that will tell you right away if you have to much power going to the HU, or it will tell you its not the problom, which could be a short someplace. and If you cant find it, you could always run a constant power wire from your fuse box, to the cd player.

Another thing that crossed my mind is a reversed ground, but it being a 03 expidition, I dont think it would have that, thats pretty much in your forign cars like MG's and other things along that lines.

Audiofanaticz,

Her brother tested the wiring, and for a second mention that it seemed like ground was drawing alot of power or it was reversed like you were saying (something along those lines) but never thought it could be this untill you mentioned it. Please explain to me about the "reversed ground".

AneonRider,

And i am continuing to do this over and over again, but i need to know if it's something els or else i would just be checking the same thing over & over and not getting anywhere.

Thx ALOT for help guyz
