Too much inward stroke?

As some of you may recall, a while back i had a thread about clicking from my sub. I eventually found that the sub was hitting the tinsel lead connectors!

I bent them down to fix the problem, but i have encountered the problem again! I bent the connectors all the way down now and the problem is completely gone. Im not feeding the sub more than 800w RMS (verified via hours and hours of dmm testing and the countless other threads i have made and learned from over the years.)

So i want some professional opinions based off of experience. Why do you think this sub would be doing this? Is it design flaw to have the connectors so high in the first place? Is it because the spider is more loose than it was when i first got it?

To answer some common questions to my question:

It is not being clipped in anyway.

my Sub-sonic is set at 32hz my box is ported at 29hz.

Sub is a Phoenix Gold RSDC 12" 600w RMS rated.

Here are pics of before i bent the leads for the first time, and now just imagine them all the way down i kinked them down.

So, let me hear what you think?

seems pretty self explanitory, you're pushing the sub too hard.

but even at 22v from the amp it was clicking.. thats like 484w and thats not even including box rise?

The sub is rated for 600w rms and i've been told they take 1000w daily by many?

im a bit confused?

2.5cuft, i sent an email off to PG to see what they would say about it, but of course i dont expect a response for a week, and even so i dont think it will be anything informative.

i would call it a design flaw,travel shouldnt be limited by the terminal connection

I think you should just bend them back down and put a slight angle on them and you would fix the problem. But before you do, send PG a complait and photo with reciept and demand compensation for you haveing to inprovise...

Huh, i doubt they would compensate me for anything (already bent em down and fixed the problem).. But yea look at those **** things, you would have to just give it 200w to have it not hit those..

In the pic i cant tell how far the connector is from the cone but it looks like less than an inch. looks like poor design to me.

Box is 2.5 cubes ported at 29hz and done CORRECTLY.
