if i run 1500 watts to my JL 12w3's, rated at 300rms , and i turn my gains all the way down and the bass off heaadunit all the way down do you think ill still nlow them?

If you do what you said you probably won't even move the sub a nanometer. Do what the other guy said and set the gain properly with a DMM, if your worried about blowing something...other-wise crank dat ish and blow that shity JL:banghead:

are they the really old school w3s? the first version? Nice SQ subs but dont abuse em with that much power. If youre trying to run tons of power and get loud, sell em and get something more suited to your wants.

yeah they are the really old school w3's first ones out. But really im not looking for sq and i dont think itll hurt them if i get it all done right

The old shool JL is pretty underrated but not by that much. if you run that much power I wouldnt suggest cranking them very often at all.
