Most likely yes...because that would mean the sub is only about 125 or so rms

well First off is it 250w rms or 250 w max Ive never seen a Max RMS rating its usually 2 different ratings. If its 250 RMS I would say you should be ok but only if everything is set up and tuned properly.

You can run a 150w rms sub on a 2,000w rms amplifier all day long without issue, if it is tuned correctly.

Use the amplifier, set the gain correctly, be happy.

What sub is it? Jl is the only company that I know does that but they give a range like 60-250wrms were 250 is ther max rms but in real terms its just regular rms

If you set without clipping you will be fine. I had a 600 watt rms 12 taking 2.5k daily with no problem, just set my gains right!

You'll be fine that sub is rated for 250rms so 300 won't hurt it as long as the power stays clean. Look up the gain setting tutorial and set it with a dmm not by ear.
