To high of an RMS rating?

You'll be fine that sub is rated for 250rms so 300 won't hurt it as long as the power stays clean. Look up the gain setting tutorial and set it with a dmm not by ear.

yeah as long as you use a DMM you're fine.

Speaking from experience I currently have a couple of 350wrms subs on a 1500wrms amp, knowing how to set the gains is key.
