to big of box

Im building a box for my XXX and planed on making it ported but after doing a little reading found out a single 8" port wont prob be enough port area. So i was gonna put it together and make it a sealed box for now till i get some more wood, but didn't know if ~7 cubes sealed is to big of box. The only reason i was still gonna build it is cuz i got the wood for free and need something to house my 18 for the time being.

usualy go big on box if underpowered that box will be pretty big for a sealed set up even for just one 1200 imo

and if you drop volume to around 6 after all displacements that 8 will work

After all displacements the box would be around 6 cubes. I keep getting mixed feelings on 1 8" being enough. I guess worst that can happen is i get some port noise and have to build a dif box and get a 2nd 8".
