Tired of waiting for Sundown

I have an OG audioque 1200.1 I bought years ago in my truck. Been beating on it hard as I can on 4hr trips never even got warm and sounds fantastic. I've recently bought a sq90.4 and I really like it as well. IMO its a solid bet on amps that won't crap out on you, go for sq
Thanks for the feed back. Nice to know they can last.

After getting pissed from the DD situation I decided to give SQ a call to test their customer service. Left a short message probably during their lunch break and got a call back an hour later. The guy was easy to talk to listened to my question and gave me the options they offer (stuff I already knew but this was a test!). All I really wanted was to feel like he wanted my business.

I understand the Q1-2200 may be better for future upgrades but my space is limited, I can't do much more than what I have now. To be honest the old Kenwoods bump those Fi's pretty hard with 920rms so I'm not really worried about 1200-1300rms not being enough...call me crazy. I think the bigger step-up for my system will be found in the Q4 I'll be getting to balance out the rest of my system with my lows.

News flash sq is son of the dd owner. Just saying. Pretty much the same customer service
At least with SQ you know it's all online based, and I've been able to reach someone anytime I've called or emailed. They people who have answered have at least been able to talk about what products they had. Although their line of products is smaller then DD.

SQ 2200.1 pop up for 300 shipped all the times, just be patient. Definitely worth it over getting a 1200.1. Its definitely worth the leap. The amp is not overly big so it should not have any space issues, you have decent enough electricals to run it too.

I was in the same boat as you 1 year ago, decided to save some money and get the 1200. It wasn't enough power for me and that "saving money" alone cost me hundreds more after as I ended up buying 3 more amps in the next year.

Great plan. All this stuff is based on the same 20+ year old circuit and comes from the same far eastern sweatshops so the only thing that differentiates is the customer service. There's definitely companies who will give you personal attention, and for me that's worth sending my money their way.

Let me just take a minute to complain about Digital Designs setup up for sales...
I call three DD authorized dealers and this is the response I get...

dealer A response after I ask what the price is on a DD M1D

dealer A: "What size is it"

me: "It's an amp..."

dealer "oh let me check...we only have the A2 and A4 do you want one of those?"

me "no"

dealer A "Call dealer B and see if they have it"

now I ask dealer B if they have a DD M1D

dealer B "Do you want to buy it"

me "I want to know if you have it and if you do have it how much does it cost"

dealer B " What is it again? Is that a sub?"

me "no. Digital designs M1D...its an amp"

dealer B "Let me check...I can order one for you, do you want to buy it?"

me "How much is it?"

dealer B "$550. Do you want me to order for you?

me "no" (I think we can all agree that amp isn't worth $550 and I'm not buying it from that guy)

Now asking Dealer C the same question. I get the same "what is that" "I don't have one" "I can order it for you"

This time $599. I tell him no as well, not worth it. Given this experience I'd hate to have to deal with their customer service for a repair. Sure I could walk in with $400 cash and try playing the game but you know what? If DD doesn't respect the value of my time enough to not make me jump through hoops to buy their products with my hard earned cash they can get bent. I'll take my money elsewhere...to many fish in the sea.

Digital Designs? I'll pass...
Owned! (Amazes me dealers should know what model #'s are for their products. That should be a write up against them)

Take that NoloudforU!!
