time to upgrade..need advice

Ive been saving for roughly the last three years to upgrade my sound system. so i have a decent amount to spend. i am looking to upgrade subs and components and subs. i kinda splurged last year. and went from my two 12 inch d3's to 2 15 d9's. still stock components with a pioneer avx-p7300dvd head unit and two d6 1200.1 amps.this is in a 1998 gti vr6 ... keep in mind.

so i made another post for the components so this is obviously the sub thread. I found somone to give me 200 less then what i paid for my full system after almost a whole year of beating the piss out of it so i am jumping on it. so i am looking to go louder obviously. A few of my friends have tried pushing me to get a 18" btl or a RE MT or a LMS 18...... i listen to alot of low deep bass anyways so i am not opposed to going to 18's i just dont think i am getting 2 of them in my car. and i dont think one will be louder then the two 15's i have now.... thanx ahead in advanced.. and i am not opposed to somthing different these are just idea at the moment.

there was really no question. i'm guessing you want suggestions, but until that can happen you have to give us more detail. such as how much power do you have, are you looking for sq, spl, sql. what's the most you wanna spend. etc.... you will have quite the time trying to get 2 18s so I would say go for two 15s, but get answers to these questions first

your right i am looking for recommendations

like i said i am selling my entire setup so i am ditching the two 1200's. and i was planning on buying whatever amp or amps to power the sub(subs).

i am just looking to be loud knock the wind out of you type of deal. i dont really care about quality. the two 15's were alright at first.. now i am bored with them so i wanna go louder.

price range is anywhere from 2 grand to 2500 for subs and amp.

alternator is already upgraded along with second battery. all using 1/0 wire.

with type of price range you have a unlimited amount of options. allow me to show

fi btl, audioque HDC3, type r, sundown nightshade, ssa icons, incriminator audio death penalty, re mx, re sx, orion hcca, l7s and etc, etc, etc. i'm sure other people will fill in the gaps that i missed.

ok i understand that my limit is basically the roof... i am jsut looking for more of a heading on what i should be looking at as far as being way louder than the 2 d9's i have.... and most of the places i go to people always say its loud.. but 2 15's in a ported box in a hatch are always going to be loud.

i mean would the performance of 2 18's be that much more significant over higher end 15's?

and am i going to be able to fit 2 18's into a 2 door v-dub? the boxes ive seen for them are either huge.... or just walls in like suburbans and h2's
