i would have to say evo, you can buy one new for what you are looking to spend. they are fast fun and have plenty of trunk to work with.

out of those STi looks the best IMO, RX-8 are nice they just dont have that go fast look of STI and Evo, and i believe the STI and EVO are faster

according to motor trend

05 lancer MR 0-60 4.7

05 lancer RS 4.3

05 evo 4.7

05 STI 4.7

dont know if these are really close or not just out of my motor trend

i believe the STI is faster, but evo maybe handles a little better iirc, and EVO still looks meaner

i love that pic of concept sti coupe

but lancer looks good too, the black S4 looks good but just dosent have that WOW factor of the others, and rx-8 just dosent have the something

yes it can, thats one of the things it is known for i dont remember what the company's name is, the upgrade "kit" costs $30,000 to reach that level but yes it is possible. this is for the normal wrx motor not the sti.

i beleive on the evos it goes

Lancer evo Rs low end model

lancer evo 8 mid range model

lancer evo mr highest model biggest difference between it and the 8 is the transmission new mr ocmes in 6 speed where the 8 was a 5 speed also mr has a better suspension other than that the engine is the exact same throughout all 3 models

evo or STi, whichever you find cheaper. you can even find 350Z's and G35's for that price if you want something not so fast.

and if you are talking about only v6 engines, the s4 isnt a good match. the new v8 ones are SWEET, but you said no bigger than v6, plus they eat gas. its HARD as hell to find older s4's that havent gotten the shit beaten out of them. plus the turbo's die at 50k-80k.

i dont like the rx-8. i smoke em in my lifted pickup. there are a lot faster cars for the price
